Sculpture Enlargement

Sculpture can be enlarged to any size in foam. The foam is carvable and be covered directly with a finish coating, but is best to be used as an armature over which clay will be placed.

After the foam is carved to reveal most of the detail of the original, a thin layer of clay is placed over the foam. The clay is then tooled to create a unique artistic sculpture. Detail can only be achieved through tooling the sculpture by hand. By finishing the sculpture in clay, hand strokes, tool strokes, and fine clay finishes are preserved.

The image to the right was created from a small marquette of a 12" figure. The final foam sculpture is 1.5 life size or based on a 9 foot tall man. This sculpture was then cast in ArcStone Professional Cast Stone.
